The 2022 Chevy Blazer Burns Past the Competition

There is warm, there is hot, and there is on fire. The 2022 Chevy Blazer is so hot that you are liable to scorch your corneas just looking at it. This midsize SUV has sleek, aerodynamic lines that give it performance you’d expect from a sports car with a look that is chiseled and, dare I say, too hot to handle. Imagine you’re out on the road, passing so many other midsize SUVs, leaving them in the dust from your choice of two powerful engines, turning heads as you fly by in your 2022 Chevy Blazer. The good news is that you don’t have to imagine it since this latest Blazer is a reality, and it is coming soon to your nearest Chevrolet dealership.

Chevy has truly put great thought into the 2022 Blazer, with its spicy combination of performance specifications and technological features, making it the rival of many more expensive models. This Blazer truly earns its name as it burns up the quarter-mile in just 15 seconds at 94 miles per hour. Let’s take a look at this hot new Blazer from Chevrolet and see why it leaves the competition in a heap of ashes.

Performance That Torches the Competition

Too many midsize SUVs give you great fuel economy but provide a powertrain that leaves their vehicle sluggish and uninspiring. Others get the performance part right, but then you get burned by really poor fuel economy numbers. The 2022 Chevy Blazer torches both kinds of midsize SUVs, giving you a choice of engines that provide amazing performance while not hurting you at the local service station. Chevrolet is so proud of these powertrains that it refers to them as “propulsion systems” in promotional materials on the Blazer!

The 2.0-liter Turbocharged I-4 uses a turbocharger (surprise!) to boost performance on its 4-cylinders, giving you the acceleration you’d expect from a larger engine, along with 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The exceptional fuel economy is a result of the direct high-pressure fuel injection and the automatic stop/start function. If you choose a Blazer with front-wheel drive, you can expect 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway, while the all-wheel drive model will deliver 22 miles per gallon in city driving and 27 miles per gallon on the highway.

There is also a 3.6-liter V6 gas engine that also uses direct fuel high-pressure fuel injection and auto stop/start. This engine has a cast aluminum engine block with cast-in-place iron bore liners for longer life and better performance. As a result, this engine produces 308 horsepower and 270 pounds to feet of torque, giving you the ability to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 130 miles per hour. It is also powerful, allowing you to tow up to 4,500 pounds behind your Blazer. Unlike so many other midsize SUVs with larger performance engines, the 2022 Blazer with the 3.6-liter V6 won’t hurt you at the gas pump with 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway with front-wheel drive, and 19 miles per gallon in city driving and 26 miles per gallon out on the highway with available all-wheel drive.

The transmission on all models of the 2022 Blazer is a Hydra-Matic 9-speed automatic. This features an electronic throttle control as well as manual shifting modes to give you greater control over your engine’s performance. The Blazer RS trim comes with an available twin-clutch all-wheel drive system for more grip and a sportier overall ride.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer has a suspension that works equally well at giving your passengers a soft and comfortable ride while you get exceptional handling. The front suspension is independent, featuring MacPherson struts with hydraulic control arm bushing and a hollow stabilizer bar. This gives you improved handling on your Blazer. The rear is a five-link independent suspension with a hollow stabilizer bar, able to smooth out all the rough spots on the road. All models of the 2022 Blazer ride on all-weather tires, giving you the best ride possible no matter the climate, road conditions, or weather.

Looks to Burn Up the Roads

Chevrolet has given the 2022 Blazer looks that make it stand out from the competition. The lines are borrowed from the Chevy Camaro muscle car but applied to a midsize SUV. These sharp lines are carried from the front grille all the way to the rear bumper, giving the Blazer a unified look that is not just striking but also aerodynamic, which is part of the reason for its efficient performance.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer has borrowed something else from another member of the Chevy family – the new Trailblazer crossover. Just like its kid sister, the Blazer is offered with an optional two-tone contrasting color roof on all models except the top Premier model. You can get this striking look on the Midnight, Sport, and Redline Editions, all of which are built off the 2LT and 3LT trim levels. This look is sharp and adds to the connections between the Blazer and Trailblazer.

For example, if you choose a Blazer in flaming red, you can get it with a contrasting black roof. Speaking of colors, Chevy has also introduced two new striking colors for the Blazer palette: Nitro Yellow Metallic and Blue Glow Metallic. As for the Blazer Premier model, the folks at Chevy have decided to enhance its striking looks with dark front and rear lower fascias, rockers, and wheel moldings, giving it a truly unified appearance that is trim exclusive.

Technology to Fire the Imagination

Chevy has pulled out the stops on technology when it comes to the 2022 Blazer. It starts with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system on an 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen, standard on every model of the 2022 Blazer. This expertly blends the stereo sound system with entertainment and vehicle information features, including Bluetooth connectivity, Amazon Alexa capability, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The Blazer RS and Premier trims add standard navigation, which is also available on the 3LT trim. Chevrolet has chosen to give the system’s touchscreen a prime location on the dashboard between the front row driver and passenger seats in an easy-to-see “floating” display. This will make it easier than ever to access and use the Infotainment 3 system without having to take your eyes off the road.

The 2022 Blazer also comes with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. The first month and 3GB of data come as part of a free trial of this feature. For audiophiles, Chevy offers an available 8-speaker Bose premium audio system on the Blazer. You can also outfit your Blazer with wireless charging for your smartphones and other devices.

Technology also makes the Blazer easier to use for shopping trips or just when you have to use your midsize SUV to move things. A power-programmable liftgate is standard on all trims except the 2LT, where it is an available upgrade. This allows you to set a specific height for the liftgate while operating it with either your keyless remote, a dashboard-mounted button on the driver’s side, or a touch button located on the liftgate itself. In addition, the RS and Premier models include a hands-free liftgate function, making loading and unloading your Blazer easier than ever.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer is smoking!

If you are feeling the heat, don’t want to get burned by the competition, and are just hot to trot in a scorching midsize SUV, then the 2022 Chevy Blazer is the model for you. With its flaming performance, spicy good looks, and blazing use of technology, the 2022 Blazer is set to torch the competition. This is one midsize SUV that is just plain smoking.
