Choosing Your Trim
When it comes to deciding which trim you’d like to customize your Silverado 1500 with, Chevrolet doesn’t slack. As we’ve previously mentioned, there are eight trims to choose from, each one conveying stylistic designs, wheel upgrades, and engine choices. Your selection of trims begins with the High Country featuring an eloquent bronze and chrome finish and 20-inch wheels. The High Country comes standard with the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine and can be upgraded with either the Duramax 3.0L turbo-diesel or the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8.
The LTZ is a rather nice looking trim with its chrome finish and 18-inch Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheels. It is certainly a great choice for any driver who likes both style and substance. With the LTZ, you can expect to find the 5.3L V8 engine standard with the option of upgrading to either the 3.0L turbo-diesel or 6.2L V8 engines.
If you opt for the LT as a trim, you will be treated to chrome mirror caps, bumpers, and a center grille bar with body-color matching door handles. This makes this trim quite intriguing with its classy design, especially when paired with its 17-inch aluminum wheels. With the LT, it comes standard with the 2.7L turbo 4-cylinder engine with the ability to upgrade to the 5.3L V8, 3.0L turbo-diesel, and the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 giving you more choice than average when it comes to customizing this trim.
The LT Trail Boss is a trim that comes with some serious power. Not only is it highly capable of some intense off-roading, but it also grants the exterior a dual-outlet exhaust and an auxiliary external transmission oil cooler. The LT Trail Boss comes standard with the 5.3L V8 and may be upgraded with the 6.2L V8 engine, both are fine choices when it comes to the power this machine deserves.
The next trim, the RST, is quite beautiful with its all-around body-color matching design that makes your bumpers, center grille bar, and door handles match your desired color. You will also receive some high-quality 18-inch Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheels. The RST comes equipped with the 2.7L turbo 4-cylinder engine with the option to upgrade to any of the three higher-tier engines. The RST also comes with an EZ Lift power lock and release tailgate as an added bonus.
The Custom is a trim that deserves your attention with its deep-tinted glass and body-color matching center grille bar and bumpers. You will also receive some incredible 20-inch Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheels that are as quality as the trim itself. The Custom also leads the way for another trim variant known as the Custom Trail Boss, which comes with a 2-inch lift to the suspension and comes with both the Autotrac 2-speed transfer case and the Z71 Off-Road Package making it the ideal trim for any off-roading adventures. Both the Custom and Custom Trail Boss come standard with the 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine with the Custom having the choice of swapping it out for the 2.7L turbo 4-cylinder engine.
The Work Truck (the base model) is a trim that people love because of its power and the large ‘Chevrolet’ name that you will find stamped onto the tailgate and grille. This truck from a design viewpoint alone looks absolutely beastly and is deserving of anyone’s attention, especially since it is the base model. The Work Truck comes standard with the 4.3L V6 with the option of replacing this with the 2.7L turbo or the 5.3L V8, all of which give the Work Truck the power it needs to get its point across.
