2019 Silverado 1500

If you’ve been a fan of Chevy’s vehicles, you’ll surely find that the 2018 version of the pickup draws on older versions of the Silverado. Cosmetically, customers will find that the brand was inspired by the Advance Design pickup trucks that were common in the 1950s, as well as the renowned C/K vehicles that were around back in the 1960s. Therefore, if you’re one who enjoys reminiscent of some of the nameplate’s older models, you’ll appreciate all of the throwback details included in this truck.

Unfortunately, customers will have to wait just as long for this hulking variation of the Silverado, but it sounds like the pickup truck will certainly be worth the wait. After all, seemingly no truck brand has ever delivered a pickup that has managed to crank out all of the power that the upcoming Silverado 4500HD and Silverado 5500HD will be able to provide to drivers. While we’re still awaiting full details, we know the nameplate will make its official debut at the upcoming Work Truck Show in Indianapolis in March. This specific event is considered to be North America’s “largest work truck event,” but it already sounds like the new Silverados will be the stars of the show.
“The Silverado 4500HD/5500HD trucks are the flagship of our full-line commercial truck portfolio and we’ve designed them to be among the best in the industry in maneuverability, serviceability, visibility, quietness and comfort, diesel fuel economy and more,” said Ed Peper, the U.S. vice president of General Motors Fleet. “At GM Fleet, we are determined to deliver on our three pillars: Great Products, Innovative Business Solutions and an Exceptional Customer Experience, and I’m confident that with these new trucks, we’ll exceed the expectations of not only our fleet customers but the drivers and upfitters as well.”
Fortunately, the brand has provided us with several details. We know the vehicles will be available in both regular and crew cab models, and they’ll also include two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive capabilities. Under the hood, owners will appreciate the inclusion of the Duramax diesel engines and Allison transmissions, which means these individuals can definitely expect an unmatched driving experience. Predictably, these vehicles will also be equipped with all of the top technology in the class, including 4g LTE Wi-Fi and OnStar computability.
Chevy has continually done an admirable job of assuring that their 2500 and 3500 versions of the Silverado are some of the best offerings in the entire class.
