2021 Chevy Trax: Why a Crossover is for You

It’s been just a few years now since the Chevy Trax debuted as an exciting addition to Chevrolet’s crossover-SUV line, but it’s already making waves! Its minimalistic size and budget-friendly MSRP was a welcoming option for those who weren’t looking to invest in a huge SUV. The Chevy Trax offers the best of both worlds, a slimmer, sleeker SUV at a price you can afford. And its superpower? The 2021 Chevy Trax is a master at navigating those spaces that would prove much more difficult, if not impossible, with a larger SUV. The Trax’s more compact size also comes in especially handy when parking in tight spaces.

Chevy knows that you need options when it comes to the size and functionality of your SUV. That’s why the 2021 Chevy Trax is designed for combined style and function so that, whether you’re out for work or play, the Trax is prepared to comfort, entertain, and keep you safe. The Trax features a nimble, sporty frame with ample space, standard entertainment, and active safety measures to ensure that you get the most out of every trip. Whatever you have planned for the day, the 2021 Chevy Trax has you covered!

Turn Heads in the Trax

The 2021 Chevy Trax continues to evolve inside and out with each new generation. The short overhangs on the 2021 Chevy Trax give it its SUV appearance. However, we think you’ll agree that the Trax is a welcome distinction from its bulkier counterparts, both in terms of maneuverability and fuel efficiency.

The 2021 Trax comes with two trim options: the LS and LT. The 2021 Trax carries 16-inch aluminum wheels for all of your travel needs. The base Trax LS trim comes with single-zone air conditioning, a 4-way manually-adjustable driver’s seat, a rearview camera, and the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system accessed through a 7-in touch screen.

The LT trim level features LED-accented tail lights, heated side mirrors matching the body paint, tinted glass, roof rails, and halogen headlights. The Premium Seat Package adds leatherette upholstery and heated front seats. The LT Convenience Package includes a six-way power driver’s seat, push-button start, and a leather steering wheel. The 2021 Trax goes heavy on the options while still maintaining its efficiency and functionality.

Speaking of options, even more customization options have been added this year in the form of special editions. 2021 Chevy Trax Sport and Midnight editions are also available with extra features you won’t find elsewhere. Both the 2021 Trax Midnight and Sport editions, similar to the LT trim level, include gloss-black 18-inch aluminum wheels, black rear and front skid plates, All-season Blackwall tires, bowtie emblems, and a darker theme overall. You can add these editions to your LT Trax.

The Power Behind the Compact

Chevy knows that, aside from the attractive frame, you’re looking for an engine that will live up to its exterior perks. The 2021 Chevy Trax offers a standard 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission for a smooth ride. While the default option is front-wheel drive (FWD), all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. In terms of power, the Trax produces 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, so there is plenty of power to get you through those city streets and country lanes.

The Trax isn’t only good for quick and smooth driving. The fuel economy is also a large point in its favor. With 26 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway with FWD, you will be able to drive farther and longer between visits to the gas station. Plus, the AWD only loses a little bit of fuel economy, dropping down to 24 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The Trax is perfect for those who are always on the go and families who have a lot of stops to make before going home for the night.

Interior and Technology

What is a lovely exterior and a performing engine without plenty of fun inside? The 2021 Chevy Trax features a standard 7-inch touch screen on the dashboard and climate control dials. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available base model features, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi is also available for fast online access for up to seven devices. The 2021 Chevy Trax features an AM/FM sound system with six speakers, SiriusXM satellite radio, two USB ports, and Bluetooth streaming.

The Trax LS trim includes cruise control, 60/40-split/folding rear seats, a folding front-passenger seat, remote start, and all-wheel drive as an optional feature. Cruise control is a standard feature on the LT, along with remote vehicle startup, LED daytime running lights, a cargo cover, tinted rear windows, heated front seats, and a luggage rack. The LT also features an optional all-wheel drive, blind-spot monitoring with rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert. Cloth seats are standard, and Deluxe cloth options are available at the LT trim for those who want a little bit of an upgrade.

The Chevy Trax’s smaller size permits a higher fuel economy, improved maneuvering, and a still generous amount of cargo space. An element that may surprise you about this smaller SUV is the space it packs within. Chevy has worked its magic, making sure you get the most out of your cargo space by offering a generous two-row seating capacity for up to five passengers that can be converted into more space for cargo. The cabin offers 48.4 cubic feet with rear seats folded and 18.7 cubic feet with the rear seats in use. The front passenger seat also folds flat to accommodate storage space for items up to 8 feet long. With eight different seating configurations, you are sure to be able to fit whomever and whatever you need.

Safety

You can count on Chevy to keep safety in the equation when delivering its innovative designs. The 2021 Chevy Trax safety features include 10 standard airbags, StabiliTrak, and premium safety technologies available as optional features. A Rear Vision Camera comes standard so you can get a live look at what’s behind you on the Chevrolet Infotainment System touch screen while reversing to help prevent collisions with people or objects.

The available Side Blind Zone Alert gives you visual cues when vehicles enter your side blind zone. The available Rear Cross Traffic Alert detects traffic to the left or right of you when you are reversing. This alert displays warning triangles with left or right indicators on the Rear Vision Camera screen. This alert also emits audible beeps to ensure that you are aware of potential hazards.

Rear Park Assist, also an available feature, provides distance alerts of objects behind you when you’re traveling at lower speeds to help you dodge them as you’re parking. As is standard in newer-generation Chevrolets, the 2021 Chevy Trax includes OnStar to keep you protected wherever you travel. There is no question that Chevy designs with safety in mind, and the Trax is a prime example of that.

A Compact For Everyone

The 2021 Chevy Trax is the ideal family travel car, whether you’re headed downtown or planning a vacation. With plenty of seating and cargo options to fit everything you need, the Trax is more than just an errand vehicle. You can get wherever you need to go quickly and safely in a zippy little 2021 Chevy Trax. This unassuming compact may just be the car you have been looking for.
