The 4 Buicks to Check Out in 2019

The Buick brand along with your local Buick dealership brings something unique to General Motors – standing strong between the working class tradition of Chevy and the peak luxury of Cadillac, a Buick gives you a little bit of both. There’s no shortage of power and performance in the Buick tradition, however, which has made it so popular for so many years. You get practical functionality from a Buick, but its design has always been guided by a hand that clearly prefers the finer things and those two concepts come together beautifully.

Although there is a pretty generous overall lineup of new Buicks in 2019, there are a few in particular that definitely need to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It’s not just about the design and graceful curves of these vehicles, but the options available in terms of power under the hood and luxury in the cabin. Buick-lovers will certainly see some favorites and probably won’t be surprised by the names on this list. But if you haven’t seen what Buick has to offer lately, then this is the time to do it, and these are the models to put at the top of your list.

The 2019 Buick Envision

Even though the Envision is one of the youngest vehicles in Buick’s lineup, it has been one of the most popular in the few years since its introduction. The 2019 Buick Envision has received a very nice mid-cycle redesign that makes it even more impressive than it was last year. Oh, and by the way, it starts off with a lower price tag than it had last year too – so you get more for less, and Buick didn’t skimp on the features.

The Envision comfortably seats five and has terrific fuel efficiency, with an estimated 22mg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. Under the hood you will find a starting 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that provides up to 197hp and 192 lb.-ft. of torque. If that’s not enough, then there’s an available 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder engine that pushes those numbers up to 252hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque for incredible overall performance and handling. The Envision is available as either a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive and there are five different trim levels to choose from.

Inside the cabin you’ll find incredible features like an 8-inch high-resolution touchscreen as part of the Buick infotainment system with available Navigation and an available 7-speaker Bose premium audio system. The Envision can include a wireless charging pad for compatible devices, fully heated and cooled seats, numerous power outlets, and USB ports for charging and streaming media through the sound system. With 10 airbags, LED daytime running lights, and available safety features that include lane change alert with blind zone detection, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert, the Envision not only looks amazing but is incredibly safe.

The 2019 Buick Enclave

Not to be outdone by its compact younger sibling, the 2019 Buick Enclave presents just about everything you would expect from a modern midsize SUV, plus a few nice surprises. 2019 is the second year for this second-generation design of the Enclave, and while there are not a ton of upgrades, enough work has been done to showcase the improvements over the last generation. It features a gorgeous midsize design and all the power and sophistication you would expect from a Buick SUV that seats seven people.

One of the best improvements of this second generation for the Enclave is the boost in gas mileage. The 2019 Enclave has an estimated fuel efficiency of 18mpg in the city and 26mpg on the highway, which is quite good – especially compared to last generation’s 15/22mpg rating. A great deal of power is packed into this beauty, and while it only has one engine available, that’s more than enough thanks to a tremendous 3.6L V6 engine that produces up to 310hp and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. That is vastly superior to what it had in its previous generation and shows just how much power can be packed into an elegant frame.

The Enclave is available as either a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and there are four different trim levels available. If you’re interested in luxury, then consider the Enclave Avenir’s 10-speaker performance-enhanced Bose sound system, active noise cancellation to keep outside noises out, heated and ventilated seats, and leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. Not to mention a configurable 8-inch driver information center and tri-zone automatic climate control.

The 2019 Buick Regal GS

If you’re more interested in a car than an SUV, then you will find few offerings better than the 2019 Buick Regal GS. This is the car for anyone who wants power and performance with a sophisticated luxury experience. For years Buick has been known among car-lovers not only for the degree of luxury they provide but also for the muscle that is often packed into such a stylish frame.

The 2019 Regal GS is a true work of art, with a sleek stylish exterior that conceals an absolute powerhouse within. The GS is an all-wheel drive design of the overall Regal model that is focused on power thanks to a magnificent 3.6L V6 engine that gives this car up to 310hp and 282 lb.-ft. of torque. It has an adaptive suspension and nice big brakes so you can stay safe even when you open this beast up on the road with its included 9-speed automatic transmission.

There’s an 8-inch Buick infotainment system with support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – plus you get active noise cancellation and a 7-speaker audio system. It features heated and ventilated leather seats along with dual-zone automatic climate control. And the flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel, which is heated, is designed for both comfort and optimal performance.

The 2019 Buick LaCrosse

I have a little bit of hesitation recommending the 2019 LaCrosse too strongly, but not due to anything particularly wrong with it. It is a gorgeous car and is an absolute joy to drive, and there are plenty of options for both power and luxury packed into this beauty. The only possible downside, however, is that it is really due for a mid-cycle update, which is likely to happen next year. If you don’t want to wait, however, then the 2019 Buick LaCrosse is a tremendous car.

What you will find is that the LaCrosse is the quintessential full-size luxury sedan, with comfortable seating for five and an estimated fuel efficiency of 25mpg in the city and 35mpg on the highway. It features a standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that offers 194hp and 187 lb.-ft. of torque with an electric motor that really helps with the gas mileage. If you want more power, then the 3.6L V6 engine included in the Buick Regal GS is available here and still provides 310hp and 282 lb.-ft. of torque. There are six different trim options to choose from, and each brings a number of improvements in terms of style and sophistication.

For example, the 2019 Buick LaCrosse can include an 8-inch high-resolution infotainment system with Navigation, with an 11-speaker Bose premium sound system. There is a wireless charging pad available, along with leather-appointed seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Safety features include stability control, LED daytime running lamps, airbags, and available features like rear park assist, forward collision alert, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert.

While this isn’t the entire Buick lineup, it should give a taste of what they have to offer… Do you see a Buick fitting your busy lifestyle?
