See the USA in Your Used Chevrolet

More and more people are beginning to see the value in buying a used car instead of a new car. Sure, there is nothing like that used car smell, but you will be paying extra for buying new long after that smell has faded. This is because new cars are subject to greater and more rapid depression than that of a used car with the same make and model. This is because cars, like most machinery, lose up to half its value in its first year. If you buy used, you can get the same make and model for less money. Conversely, if you decide to operate with the same budget dollars for a used car, you will be able to afford a higher trim level of the same vehicle, or even a larger car, truck, or SUV. And few manufacturers offer as wide a variety of vehicles as Chevrolet. If you are in the market for a used Chevrolet, you are going to find a car, truck, or SUV that will fit you and your lifestyle like no other auto manufacturer can offer. In addition, Chevrolet offers a certified pre-owned program that is second-to-none in value and features. So, if you are in the market for a used car, then you should strongly consider buying a used Chevy.

Chevy Coupes and Sedans

Chevrolet currently manufactures four different coupes and sedans, the two-door subcompact Spark, the compact Sonic, the midsized Malibu, and the full-sized Impala. Each of these provides exceptional gas mileage, plenty of room for you and your passengers, and is fun to drive. While each is attractively priced new, you can actually find an even better deal if you opt for a used one of these coupes or sedans. Think about it; you can get a used Chevy Malibu with a higher trim and more features than if you bought one new for the same price. Or you can buy the same Malibu trim level for less money when you buy used. This puts you in the position of getting the best deal possible for yourself.

Chevrolet SUVs

The same thing goes for the lineup for Chevy SUVs. Chevrolet may have the largest lineup of sport utility vehicles on the market, positioning it as the go-to option for most customers looking for these dependable and versatile vehicles. That is because consumers have learned that a well-made SUV can provide you with the best of both worlds, combining the convenience of a sedan with the space of a truck. The newest member of the lineup is the Trailblazer, a seriously sporty crossover.

While you probably won’t find a Trailblazer on sale used, you are almost certain to find another used Chevy SUV that will meet your needs and exceed your desires. The Chevy Trax is a cute subcompact SUV that you could swear looks bigger on the inside than it does on the outside. It is economical and a perfect SUV for a young couple just starting out, or a pair of empty nesters looking to downsize. Need a little more room? The Chevy Equinox eclipses the competition when it comes to styling and drivability. Both of these can be found used at your local Chevy dealership.

When it comes to midsize SUVs, Chevy has you covered. The Blazer is a two-row midsize SUV that has exceptional ruggedness, at home on or off the road. The Traverse is a really cool three-row SUV that provides perfect space for a growing family. These also are available used at prices that will surprise you with their affordability. Chevy also features two of the best full-size SUVs, the Tahoe and the Suburban. Each have three rows with space for up to 8 passengers and so much room in the trunk for luggage that they are ideal for the ultimate road trip. In addition, when Chevy announced a major redesign for the Tahoe and Suburban for 2021, it made the used models of these more affordable for you. Now, if you buy either of these used, you will have plenty of money left over for that road trip you have been dreaming about for years.

Chevy Trucks

Chevrolet is a leader in pickup trucks with the legendary full-size Silverado and the midsize Colorado. A recent announcement that a new version of the Colorado will be released for the 2021 model year made headlines, as truck buyers are intrigued by the new design scheduled to be rolled out later this year. This also means that many of these same buyers have begun trading in their older Colorado trucks for a new one.

What does this mean for you? Any time a major vehicle has a new generation coming out, it can mean that the prices of used vehicles from the prior generation will become more affordable. This translates into greater value for you if you are in the market for a used midsize truck.

Similarly, Chevy premiered the all-new Chevy Silverado HD for the 2020 model year. If you are in the market for a heavy-duty full-size truck that won’t break the bank, then an older model Silverado HD 2500 or 3500 could be right for you. This is especially the case if you are planning to use your truck in whole or in part for commercial purposes since you are looking to get the job done right with as little expense as possible. Buying a used Chevy Silverado will help you with your bottom line. You’ll get just as much truck while keeping more working capital in your business.

Chevy Sports Cars

Two of the most famous performance sports coupes are made by Chevrolet. The Chevy Corvette is an American icon, with a classic look. The Chevy Camaro has always been one of the hottest looking cars on the road, sure to turn heads. Chevrolet recently introduced a redesigned Corvette, making it a mid-engine performance car, with a look that reminds one of the classic sports cars from Europe. However, there are plenty of exceptional examples of the classic Corvette and Camaro, and they are ready for you on the used Chevy market.

These include such fabled models as the Corvette Z51 and the Grand Sport. Best of all, by buying used, you will be able to check out the vehicle’s repair history to get a better idea of which model is just right for you. These are also a great buy on the used car market, as you can probably get a Camaro or Corvette in a more affordable price range than if you were looking to buy new.

Other Chevy Models

Carmakers often discontinue models for a variety of reasons. Some were not popular. Some may be seen as behind their time, others too far ahead. For whatever reason, these models just didn’t sell when they were first introduced. However, for you, they may represent the best value on the used market. Let’s face it; there was nothing inherently wrong with these vehicles. It was just that the public didn’t take to them at the time.

Take, for example, the Chevy Avalanche, a very modern full-size pickup truck with styling reminiscent of the popular Cadillac Escalade. Even though the general public may not have seen the value in it at the time, that is no reason why you shouldn’t pass on it and get this truck for a lot less than you would pay for a comparable truck of the same size and capability.

How about going green and getting a Chevy Volt? These electric cars will save you plenty at the pump, and also on the used market. Other Chevy models that were recently discontinued include the Cavalier and Cruze sedans and the HHR station wagon. These are all quality vehicles that you can purchase on the used market for a fraction of their original cost.

Certified Pre-Owned Chevy’s

Certified pre-owned is a program that provides you with certain benefits and peace of mind that exceed normal purchases of a used car, truck, or SUV. Chevrolet operates one of the best certified pre-owned programs in conjunction with its authorized dealers. In order to qualify as certified pre-owned, a Chevy vehicle must be within the current six model years, and have less than 75,000 miles on the odometer.

Each certified pre-owned model undergoes a thorough 172-point inspection and reconditioning process before it is listed for sale. This is undertaken by trained and certified Chevrolet mechanics and will include all safety recalls on the make, model, and year of such vehicle. Chevy will also provide a free CARFAX vehicle history report with each certified pre-owned vehicle.

Each certified pre-owned Chevrolet car, truck, and SUV comes with two factor-backed limited warranties: a 6-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, and a 12-month/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty. Each of these should give you greater comfort when you are buying a certified pre-owned Chevy vehicle.

Finally, Chevy gives you a free 3-month subscription to OnStar Safety & Security Plan, and a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM All Access package on the satellite radio in the vehicle. These benefits are in addition to any which you receive from your Used Chevrolet dealership.

There has never been a better time to buy a Used Chevrolet car, truck, or SUV. And there has never been a better time to take your Used Chevrolet on a road trip to see the USA.
