Have You Taken a Good Look at the 2019 GMC Truck Lineup?

If you answered no to that question, then stick around because it is well past time that you did. If you answered yes, on the other hand, then still stick around because you might have missed something that you’ll regret. Either way, my point is you should keep reading because the 2019 lineup of GMC trucks for sale is truly impressive and worth a good look (or a second look, or a third look, or…).

There are essentially four different models to choose from if you’re looking at GMC trucks for sale in 2019. In order of increasing size and power, you start off with the Canyon, which is a small pickup that is great for anyone who wants a truck but doesn’t need a serious workhorse. From there you can step up to the Sierra 1500, which is a light-duty pickup truck with options for a very powerful engine that can get a lot done. If you need something bigger and stronger, then there’s the Sierra 2500HD or the 3500HD, both of which are heavy-duty pickups that can keep going as long as you can.

The 2019 GMC Canyon

Want a truck but you’re not sure you need all the muscle of something like a heavy-duty model or even a full-size pickup? If so, then this is a great place to start when considering different GMC trucks for sale. The 2019 GMC Canyon is a small pickup that certainly can’t perform the tasks you can do with something like the Sierra 3500HD, but it can get a lot of jobs done and is also great for the weekend.

Depending on which engine you go with, you can get up to 308hp in this truck and a towing capacity of up to 7,700 lbs. Now, to be fair, that certainly falls way short of what you can get with a heavy duty truck, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. If you want something smaller that can still tow a trailer or camper behind you, as long as it’s not too big or loaded up, then this is a great choice. Depending on the configuration you want, this truck can measure in at only about 212 inches long (that’s less than 18 feet), which makes it a great choice if you don’t have room in your life for a massive pickup.

The Canyon starts off with an MSRP of just $21,500 and there are plenty of great available options and trim levels if you want to cram all sorts of luxury into this thing.

The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500

Once you’re ready to step up to a full-size pickup truck, but you don’t necessarily need something heavy-duty, then the Sierra 1500 is a great choice. The Sierra lineup in general is hard to beat, and this is the starting option. Among the different GMC trucks for sale, this is the one that probably fits the widest range of lifestyles and needs without being too much or too little for a lot of people.

This beauty can get loaded up with an engine that offers up to 420hp and has a maximum towing capacity of up to 12,200 lbs. So you can see this thing is already quite a lot more powerful than the GMC Canyon, and it’s larger too. Where the Canyon can be as small as 212 inches long, the Sierra 1500 measures in at 231 to 241 inches long, depending on the configuration you look at. That’s a good two feet longer than the Canyon, but it packs in a lot more muscle too, so this is a great choice if you know you’re going to be hauling some heavier loads.

That power comes with a higher price tag, of course, as the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 starts off at $33,500 MSRP, with plenty of options for upgrades.

The 2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD

While the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is a great truck, and certainly can work a lot harder than the Canyon, if you’re looking for a serious workhorse then it’s time to check out the two heavy-duty models. That starts with the GMC Sierra 2500HD, which is the first of two GMC trucks designed to handle just about anything you can throw at it. If you know you need a heavy-duty truck but maybe not quite as much as the 3500HD can handle, then this is the way to go.

You can get a Turbo-Diesel engine in the 2500HD, which gives you up to 445hp and an astounding 910 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the engine that will get just about any job done – if you’re looking to haul a thousand pounds of gear up a steep incline, this is the one that can get it done. If configured properly, this truck has a maximum towing capacity of up to 14,500 lbs. with a traditional setup and up to 15,400 lbs. with a gooseneck, plus it has a maximum payload of more than 3,000 lbs.

On top of all that, the Sierra 2500HD has a starting MSRP of $38,200, which is quite reasonable for everything it can do.

The 2019 GMC Sierra 3500HD

And finally, when looking at GMC trucks for sale we come to the powerhouse beast of the lineup: the 2019 GMC Sierra 3500HD. This truck definitely lives up to the term “heavy duty” and can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. If this truck isn’t powerful enough for you, then you probably need to consider a commercial vehicle designed to handle massive payloads beyond anything a consumer-grade truck can handle.

The 3500HD has the same engine available as the 2500HD, which means you can get a Turbo-Diesel that provides up to 445hp and 910 lb.-ft. of torque. The powerful design of the 3500HD, however, gives you a maximum traditional towing capacity of 20,000 lbs. and a maximum gooseneck rating of 23,100 lbs. Plus this truck has a maximum payload of over 6,000 lbs. Seriously, anything you need to get done, this truck can handle. And if it can’t, then maybe you need a semi!

All this power even comes with a pretty reasonable price, thanks to a starting MSRP of $40,800, though you will have to pick some upgrades and packages for maximum towing power.

Which Truck is Right for You?

Honestly, that is a question only you can answer, but I can give you some hints to help you make the right choice. If you need a truck to handle some decent loads, but you don’t want anything too big and you’re not looking to top 8,000 lbs. in your trailer, then the 2019 GMC Canyon should be perfect. On the other hand, if you need to tow about 10,000 lbs. and want something a bit bigger, then consider the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500.

Of course, once you know you need quite a bit more power, then it’s time to look at a heavy-duty option. The Sierra 2500HD is a great choice if it meets your needs, but if you need the maximum amount of power possible, then check out the 3500HD. Any choice is a good one when it comes to picking a GMC truck for sale, so long as it meets your needs.
